    Need a 2 bike rack for hitch. Anyone have one that fits with a ladder and still allows you to open hatch?

    Sounds like you need one that tilts. My old Yakima carried 3 and tilted back to open the hatch. Not sure about the ladder though. Although I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    You could use a tilt-away hitch as @leftyfire suggested and combine it with a hitch extender if required.

    I have a Thule. It's good for two large bikes on smooth road. If you plan on driving on washboard roads or deep ruts, I would say pass on this. Ask me how I know, LOL. Unloaded, you can swing down the rack and open the tailgate.
