I am looking for a spare tire hitch that doesn’t sit far away from the body and has a nice offset. I don’t do much over landing or crawling so I am not worried about the height. Also don’t really mind it being a swing out or the pull pin.

Is your OEM spare tire hoist seized up? Seems that's the least intrusive location if you aren't off-roading seriously.

To do what you want would require a lot of material to attache it to the frame, and also with the tire it would take up a lot of space close to the road. I hate the cable deal Toyota uses but it is about the best design using the existing space.

Depends on your tire size if you want to/can even get the spare under the rig with the normal cable system. Some people have stuffed 33" MTs in there (aired down)...

As far as hitch mounts that depends on your budget. The most best Ive seen for cheapest is the Rigid Armor mount, not to be confused with the Rig'd Ultraswing. Then theres Wilco, Wescott Designs, few others. Or full custom that may well be better suited to get precisely what you want.

Very interesting to hear that properly inflated 33in tire don't fit in spare tire location for 4th gen?

As for hitch mount spare I doubt there is anything nearly as stable as the factory spare tire location. I think even on highway it would vibrate?

Some do some dont. Not every 33" tire is actually 33" their dimensions are sometimes off, manufacturing variance, etc. As far as vibrations if its in the standard spare locations just sinching it down some should take care of that. Otherwise every hitch mounted carrier nowadays has some sort of anti wiggle device in it that you tighten after its installed. theyre all pretty solid really
