The sad thing is, there's actually four. https://www.4runners.com/threads/battery-drainage.42168/
@dublin the reason why this is SO annoying, is because now if someone has a similar problem and they were to search "Battery Drainage", instead of being able to read one thread for possible solutions, now it's scattered over FOUR different threads, with different titles. So, please do us a favor and delete the extraneous threads and consolidate if possible. And, in the future, please keep it to ONE thread on the same subject.

Members can delete posts, but not threads, unfortunately.

Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure. Hopefully at the very least we can educate @dublin .

It seems the majority of modern batteries suck. When the time comes, I am going to spend good money and get an Odyssey battery.

More and more newer vehicles are using AGM type batteries. AGMs as starters/ general use batteries don’t seem to hold up as well as old flooded cell batteries. But, as stated, quality on flooded cell have gone down with sponge and plate lead cost cutting measures in place. If you get 5 years out of a stock battery, count yourself lucky!

Good morning, never mind getting 5 years out of a battery, I'd like to get 1 year ! lol I finally relented and put a Tender on the battery.
So my 3yr / 36,000 miles is up in March 2025 - any suggestions regarding things to get checked out prior to then ?
    Thanks !

Regularly using a good tender should give you 5 yrs of battery life no problem.

As far as an expiring warranty, I would give it a really good look for any slight leaking or weeping....everywhere and anywhere.... all gaskets on the engines, differentials, trans, all the pumps, gaskets, hoses, brake lines, etc. Ideally you could put it on a lift somewhere and really look it over closely or have someone do it for you.

Could be just troll. Because the factory Panasonic are really good. My 2019 battery just got replaced last week with almost 1 week snow. Old battery just couldn't handle the cold. My 2019 do very short trips having 19000 miles odo.

Maybe forum admins can take a look at this multiple thread situation and dump it to one thread? Sure they don't expect to handle pre-school like stuff.
