    DOT LP6
A redefinition of what a headlight can be.

Baja Designs, the leader in off-road and automotive lighting, announces its first-ever road-legal headlight: the DOT LP6. Designed for Jeep JL, JT, JK, universal applications, moto, and more vehicle-specific options coming soon. The DOT LP6 brings Baja Designs’ performance-inspired DNA to the road with a fully FMVSS 108-compliant solution, all while preserving the iconic LP6 look.

    Purchase the DOT Lp6 NOW!!!

    Inspired by the Race-Proven LP6
Built on the foundation of the iconic LP6, the all-new DOT LP6 has been completely re-engineered to meet strict road-legal standards while retaining the iconic look. Featuring six advanced projector optics, the DOT LP6 provides precise, focused light output that maximizes visibility without blinding oncoming traffic. Integrated high and low beams, along with white or amber daytime running lights, ensure consistent, reliable illumination in all driving conditions, from city streets to winding backroads. Every element of the design has been carefully crafted to balance performance, safety, and style, delivering the signature bold, aggressive look.

The DOT LP6 low beam produces 3,480 raw lumens with 42,568 candela, while the high beam delivers 5,280 raw lumens with 62,611 candela, providing bright, controlled lighting for any road condition. With a 5000K color temperature, the DOT LP6 strikes the perfect balance between visibility and comfort, offering light that mimics natural daylight and improves contrast at night, unlike many factory LEDs that run cooler at 6000–6500K and can increase eye fatigue or strain.

    Key Features:
    • Integrated high and low beam functionality
    • White or amber daytime running lights (DRL)
    • Vehicle-specific mounting brackets for a perfect fit
    • Low beam: 3,480 raw lumens | 42,568 candela
    • High beam: 5,280 raw lumens | 62,611 candela
    • 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee and Lifetime Limited Warranty
    • FMVSS 108-compliant.

    Availability
The DOT LP6 for the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT is now available for purchase through BajaDesigns.com, giving Jeep owners a chance to upgrade their vehicles with a road-legal headlight designed for both performance and style. Universal options are also available now, allowing for flexible installation on a variety of vehicles beyond Jeep applications. Harley-Davidson-specific kits are set to launch in the coming months, expanding the DOT LP6 lineup for motorcycle riders, along with other vehicle-specific kits. Customers can also choose between clear and amber backlights, maintaining both aesthetic and high performance for road legal visibility.

While we showcased the kits on a Jeep, that doesn’t mean it’s just a “Jeep light.” In fact, we’ve seen countless custom applications using our standard LP6 across a wide range of vehicle platforms.

The purpose of this post is simply to bring awareness to our street-legal version of the LP6. Many enthusiasts have mistakenly used the standard LP6 as a headlight, so we wanted to show our street legal solution and also gauge interest in potential new vehicle-specific applications, or even an all-new headlight design.

We’ve always been known for off-road lighting, so this is a completely new direction for us. But it’s one we’re genuinely excited about. Expanding into this sector could open up even more possibilities for your vehicle in the future.

At the end of the day, it’s just a headlight—but I’m excited to see where enthusiasts take it. Personally, I’ll be trying to run these on my 3rd 4Runner as a fully custom setup. My apologies for any confusion.

I will say I'm excited to see these in action. While I had to poke fun at the Jeep hype post, these lights do look interesting.

Ive wondered for years while most offroad lights are just light bazookas blasting light forward, everywhere. I do understand the different lighting (spot, fog, combo, etc.) but being able to mount what is essentially a headlight anywhere is neat.

A pair of those DOT LP6'S on my bumper would be pretty sweet to go with my roof spotties.

Do you have "Vehicle-specific mounting brackets for a perfectfit" for these for the 4runner?

Just hitting that copy paste from other forums posts. Thats cool. Ive bought a couple sets of Squadron pros, light bar also used one your lights as a dirt bike's headlight. I appreciate you guys. Fantastic products. Looking into your rock lights just for why the heck not because ive run out of projects. That said...

Thanks for the support and feedback on the products! We totally get that if something isn't plug-and-play, it might seem like it’s not worth posting. But there are definitely enthusiasts out there who enjoy tackling custom mount applications, and that’s been happening with our products for years. People will figure out the best way to make it work, and if it helps even one enthusiast in this community, we think it’s worth it.

Forum support from companies has been dwindling, and Baja Designs is still one of the few lighting companies who actively still monitor forums. We see this as one of the best ways to get real feedback from the enthusiasts who know our products. While we might not have something plug-and-play right now, this could open the door for new possibilities and variations down the line.

Plus, this is the very first Baja Designs Dot headlight, and what's great about it is that it’s not just for Jeeps it’s a universal application as well.

Plus it’s literally on the off topic thread.

    Best,

So here is a thought: when the demand from the Jeep crowd stabilizes, consider making brackets and wiring harnesses for 4Runners, you know, literally the name of this entire site and why people are here, and I for one would be most receptive to it.

    Until then, if I wanted a Jeep, I wouldn't be in a 4Runner.

Currently on 2nd gen and 1st gen. Also, talking with someone for the 3rd gen 4th gen would be a little difficult just because of the size. This is our very first street-legal headlight! We are looking to make different kits, but that will be later on down the road. These are not our kits; customers are designing brackets.

I'll stick with my 25-year-old Hella H4/9003 conversion housings (made in Germany). Good pattern and looks factory (not home made).

Job well done sir! that made me laugh. I have some Diode Dynamics that I set up on their own switch and use them as DRL. Not even joking, if i used them at night "my opponets" would shoot me. Way too bright.

Great response. Always take the high road. BD is an excellent product. Listen, you get what you pay for. Like you said BD isn’t for everyone but don’t whine when your $29 Amazon lights stop working EXACTLY when you absolutely need them to work. I have BD hood pods. My wife is a geologist and is constantly in very remote places at night. When she presses the button those lights have to turn on. And BD has never failed her.

Now we just need some aftermarket maker to come up with a 4runner headlight adapter to run FJ headlights...I would be down for that.
