Audio Upgrade

Maybe I missed it and sorry for bringing up an old thread, but with swapping the factory head unit out can you still access the settings ect from the aftermarket head unit that you can with the one from the factory. I have a 2024 trdpro w the jbl system and want to upgrade it eventually.

 

You would need a headunit with iDatalink compatibility and a iDatalink Maestro interface. It gives you all the needed leads you need for full installation.

 

Depends on the settings. I lost some options/settings swapping out my head unit but gained a ton more useful ones with my new head unit.

 

Thanks guys! I guess I don’t care too much I don’t really ever use it haha. Do the aftermarket head units also make the call quality better? Sometimes it’s hard to hear the person speaking on the other end.

 

I was happy to get rid of the spyware stuff in the head unit and the poor designed apps.

It certainly can. My Kenwood DMX 10.6 came with a high def mic that can be moved directionally.

 

Spyware? Like the reporting to Toyota I assume?

 

Yeah, my model year it was in the head unit.
