Just seeing what size tires people have on their 4Runners. I currently have 275/70/r17 on my 2006 V6 Sport 4WD with a 2” lift. I’m looking to go a little bigger to 285/70/r17. I hope I won’t run into problems with rubbing, just looking for opinions from other enthusiasts here. Thanks in advance!!

Works great on my 2019 and wife’s 2020 with the Westcott lift for the TRD PRO!

    Tinted fronts, blacked out overlays.
Probably the most common size on a lifted 4runner, key word is “lifted”.

Need to consider the width and offset of the wheel.
Aftermarket UCAs for better alignment, frozen LCA bolts, tired ball joints.
    Extended rear sway bar links.
Trim front bumper, move fender liner forward, and possible body mount chop.
Check the specs for the actual tire for diameter, as they vary between models and load ratings.

285/70/r17 did NOT fit in my OEM spare location, I'm using a 255/75-17 for a spare.

    Good Luck!

No issues here but I am lifted 3”. I had to remove the front mud flaps, they were the only thing rubbing.

Lots with more in the works
This was my truck when I first got the 285/70/17s on it. Tundra/Sequoia wheels have slightly more offset than the stock wheels. Some rubbing, even with about 2" of lift here. Tires are Toyo Open Country ATIII.

Same tires and wheels but more recent. More lift, about 3" or so and a 1" body lift. Also 1.25" wheel spacers added. Tires have over 38k miles on them now and still look good for another 10k or so. Going to a 315/70 next I think.
