curious if anyone here is running an aftermarket exhaust. I’m thinking about Magnaflow or Borla for the Wifey’s ride.

My understanding is that it is probably best to just cut the muffler off and install one to your liking, unless your wanting to change out the Y pipe and all.

That’s exactly what I’ve got in mind. No need for new piping.

the Toyota muffler systems are very strong and last a long time. aftermarket is a problem ..

replacing the muffler if you want it to make noise because that is all it will do then welding the louder muffler in place will cause a rust hole in a few years . on install do not have it welded in place .. set it up so the toyota muffler can be put back in ..

you can also remove the complete exhaust and install an after market system .. keep the toyota exhaust and in a few years the after market will have problems .borla exhaust now available and some have complaints on it ..about $700..Borla is too short out the rear ..need extension...
