Hey all. So as the proud owner of three Gen1s at the moment, I've found it pretty interesting as to what's available and what's not. Rear bumpers and rear bumper end caps seem like an obvious place for the aftermarket to step in but apparently not.

Not much I can do about the bumpers themselves but on two of my trucks I'm missing one or more of the rear end caps and am having a hard time finding those bad boys in viable condition. So it occurred to me, since I do have a pristine example, why not have them 3D printed?

I'm currently talking to one shop and they're giving me the runaround a little bit but there are plenty more options. It sounds like the deal is it's going to cost a few hundred dollars to have it scanned or "reverse-engineered" as this guy keeps referring to it. He keeps refusing to give me a per item printing cost, but I can get to the bottom of that. I figured I could have a dozen or so extra done and bake like $10 of reverse engineering cost into each one and share with the community to help defray my cost (not looking to get rich on this one, just make my own project more viable). Then I can make the file available online so people can just have them printed on their own in the future without that up front development cost.

So two questions to all the folks here.

First is, if you're missing a bumper end cap, what would you pay for one of these? If I can get a general consensus on what these are worth to folks, I'll know if the per unit cost is too much to make it viable. For me, since I have to have them I think the number is like $100 per but I'm guessing for most people it's between $40-$60.

Second, if anyone is familiar with 3D printing and has any advice on pitfalls to avoid or materials to use, that would be very much welcome. I'm going to ask around in 3D printing specific communities but I never turn down free advice!
