Both these are rare vehicles and both use the 1st gen 4runner formula of taking a pickup (in this case its a Datsun 240 or Nissan Hardbody) and putting a fiberglass roof over the bed and adding seats.
You wont see a Nissan Sani outside of Africa because it was made in Lesotho and sold in Africa. These were converted from Nissan hardbody pickups, and is basically the same idea behind the original Toyota Trekker.
The Bushmaster (my nickname in college :anonymous: lol) has a lot of parallels to the Trekker. This conversion was done by a separate company for Datsun to Datsun 720 pickups, and they came in both 4wd :) and 2wd :(. While these were sold in the US, they are exceeding rare because they were only sold from 1984 to 1986 in very small quantities.

But there is a bit of happy ending to this story, because like the Toyota Trekker, the Bushmaster would have a descendent that we know today as the Nissan Pathfinder. The first gen pathfinder was a lot like the 2nd gen t4r and it was fairly good off road. Unfortunately, the modern Pathfinder is nowhere near to as close to its roots as the 4runner is today.
