Hi members. New to this forum. Glad to be a part.

2023 trd pro. Stock. I noticed this annoying jiggle sound coming from the passenger front (outside). It’s not a rattle, squeak but more of a jiggle when something is loose.

sound comes on only at slower speed and over small bumps but not always. It comes and goes. I tried recording it but sound can’t be picked by my recorder from inside. Car drives great otherwise. No steering, brakes or shock issues. Never off roaded. Mostly highway travel.

I brought it to my dealer but they were not even helpful; claimed it’s loose gravel on front skid plate…. Definitely not sounding like rocks on metal.

I had a reputable independent mechanic do a full inspection. He noticed the sound right away on our test drive but couldn’t find the source. They checked shocks, bushings sway bars, skid plates etc…

then one day I saw a video that MAY BE the source. A loose panel triangular shape (plastic/ rubber) within the wheel well. Unfortunately the you tube video show the loose part but did not have the sound from that problem so that I can compare.

I love this truck but the sound is very annoying. I drive quite a bit , 100 miles/day so I’m conscious of it.

Any of you have had same issue/sound? Any tips?

this is the video I found

    https://youtu.be/-_hA92YhMiQ?si=D5BUHMKwNalIfSN0

    thanks!

Lube the hood bumper cushion. Mine sounded like a suspension issue but turned out to be this.

Now that I watched the video I had that same issue as well. Sounded like a metal on metal. I think ark sells spacers to insert in between the clip and the liner.

just fixed mine yesterday. Removed the stock plastic fasteners on the debris shield and replaced with thicker fasteners to stop the rattle. So far so good.

The hood latch mechanism is usually the source of this sound. The U-hook and latch get dry and they will make a squawking sound as the body flexes over bumps or uneven surfaces. The solution is to put a dab of grease on the shiny spot on the U-hook and on the corresponding spot on the catch. Not a lot, just a dab will do ya.

Adjusting the bump stops under the hood will also work, since it puts some preload pressure on the u-hook/catch. But it’s not necessary, and you run the risk overdoing the adjustment and creating gaps in the front hood weatherstripping which will allow saltwater spray into areas you don’t want (if you live if the saltbelt).

You can get plastic retainer clips that fit the holes more snugly, e.g. https://www.amazon.com/GOOACC-Retainer-Plastic-Fasteners-Chrysler/dp/B07L6FJGR4/

There are also a couple of companies selling upgraded splash guards with better coverage. They also come with better clips. I'm using Ark splash guards P/N 83810:

I have a stone stuck up in my crossmember/crossmember sub assembly. I can’t hear it, but it has to rattle because I pushed it away from the hole it was protruding from and it just rolled over a couple of inches and it’s pretty hard.

It’s the OEM fender liners… any “reputable” mechanic or someone with 10 mins poking around could find this.

use some double sided black tape to silent the movement of them, or you can order aftermarket ones
