I get that the 5th gen sport wasn't 100% built for off road, seems to be quite the opposite , but still has some ground clearance, and 4x4, , just wondering if anyone has them or has really tried ????

Pics if you've got em, thanks

I don’t have the sport model, but I own a stock SR5 and have done quite a bit of off road without any problems. You don’t have to spend thousands in upgrades. Just invest in a good set of tires and life is good.

If I recall correctly, it’s the same as any other SR5 mechanically speaking.

You just need to take more care to not hit the front facia and rocker trim. The street tires/wheels arent the best for traction or sidewall height, so you’s wanna avoid sharp rocks and such.

Otherwise, it would do fine I think.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering how the 20s would do even with a/t tires... and isn't the suspension a bit different between the sport/sr5 because of the xreas system?

Xreas is exclusive to the limited trim.

The sport trim is part Limited, which includes the Xreas. I think they were going for sporty on road vehicle.

The X-REAS can limit your options for lifting, but lift isn't really necessary for mild to moderate off-roading. It can be ditched eventually if you decide you want to lift it and start doing some more challenging stuff.

Like the others have said, switch to a 17" wheel and some nice all terrains, and you can do a good amount of off-roading. Plenty of members have set up Limiteds for trail use. Check out the 5th gen build sections for ideas.

I will deff check out the build sections, would love to see some of the more road oriented versions, off pavement. My sport wasn't my 1st choice, but w the current car market, off roads, and pro models don't really show up around here, or atleast not in awhile. And yeah I was kinda thinking 17s, but its nice to be reassured on that. And around here, I'm not sure if there's anything really past even a moderate type of trail, maybe 1 random trail or 2. Unfortunately I'm not out west where all the good stuffs at. But just the same. I would love to try and start finding some light trails this thing can handle now until after market wheels and tires come, which may be awhile,....
