Currently shopping via the internet because I'm deployed and found what looked like a gem. 1 owner car V6 4WD, 155K miles for 11k manufacture date of 07/05. Did spend its life in CT but was dealer maintained its whole life. Solid maintenance history on carfax, car drives great, 4WD works but the pictures are what concern me. The undercarriage has been painted/treated, like the whole thing to include control arms. It doesnt look like any rust was treated before it was painted. The people i had go inspect it said it was all solid and nothing but paint came off when tapped around the entire frame, solid sounding everywhere. Well aware its an 05 and will not be perfect but am i just being paranoid and missing out on a solid vehicle? Tracking the possible head gasket issue and wrench time doesnt scare me off. Im more concerned with structure bc im not messing with that.

Yup. Trying to be passed off as 'rust free' - it's not. When people go to that much trouble to hide rust, it's always a red flag.

I have to agree on the covered up rust. It looks like it was sprayed on over the existing rust.
