So I am about to put a lift on my 4th gen.
I'm pretty new to all of this just a heads up.

but once I get the lift on should I go get an alignment after. My only reason for asking this is because the lift goes on tomorrow and I won't be getting wheels and tires (285/70/17) until Christmas and dont want to have to pay for 2 alignments (one after lift and one after wheels and tires).

If anyone could give me some advice that would be appreciated.

I’m not a mechanic but for myself I wouldn’t go twice, especially since it make sense to let the new suspension settle. Check it after the install, when she is not pulling badly to the left or right then leave it and get it done after you got new wheels and tires

Most large tire shops will offer a lifetime alignment package. Get it aligned now & when you get your new wheels & tires just go in & tell them you hit a pothole and feel like you are out of spec a bit...
    Hope it helps.

Like stated above, get your lift done, then get the alignment. After it settles in (about 500 mi.) at least, then get your tires and wheels, and then another alignment.
