I’ve had a Kenwood head unit installed for a while and sometimes my sound completely stops working until I shut off my 4Runner and turn it back on again. I have the Kenwood head unit connected to a Maestro. Has anyone else had this problem? I have a 2014 Limited with a built in factory amp.

I have a Kenwood DDX9906XR 2019 model. It's been doing the same thing for a while. Kenwood used to be good but I guess they went downhill. I had a Pioneer years ago in another truck I had, and never had trouble with it. I've started looking for a new head unit. Will be between Pioneer, Sony, or Alpine.

Pioneer has their share of issues.....mainly random reboots.

This Kenwood unit I have also has a problem with random reboots on top of this audio cutting out issue.

This sounds like a headunit issue. As mentioned kenwood has went down hill from 90s/2K supremacy it once had. The software and internal amp processor are basically dying. Cheaper to replace.
