    Hello ToyHeadz,

I've been scouting the interwebs for performance mods on The 3.SLOW and I've come across this one.

Just wondering if anyone (SPECIFICALLY IN CALIFORNIA) has done this and passed SMOG. AND, was it worth it?

Thanks, looking to hear from someone.

So I have pretty much no experience with afm swaps, but have these write ups you’ve been reading show that the 7m ones work on the 3vz specifically?

I know a lot of these computers are very picky about what afm’s will work. For example 22re’s will not work with 3vz afm’s and vice versa. Mine has been going out and I can’t find a 22re one for a reasonable price to save my life right now

From what I've gathered in my research, the 7MGE will swap seamlessly with the 3VZ. The only hiccup is adjusting the cogs.

I have no clue about 22re's. I haven't owned one in years.

My BIGGEST question is to whether or not this mod will pass California Smog Inspection.

I have atleast one 22re factory AFM and I have another factory one that has been opened up. They both came out of good running rigs. I'd sell them cheap if you are interested.

Visually you’ll be fine, no smog tech will know the difference, and honestly I doubt any of us would. In theory it should pass the sniffer if you get the cog adjusted correctly. I’m assuming other than circuitry the only real difference between them is the amount of air they can let in if they are a bigger unit
    Awesome! Dm me please
