I'm constantly swapping between a 1 7/8" ball, a 2" ball, and adding/removing my Bike Rack and or Basket.

At least in my 5th gen 4runner, anything rattles in the stock hitch, so I have a bolt on anti rattle guard that does work. But it makes swapping between bike racks and trailer balls a real pain...

In my perfect world, I would find a aluminum drop hitch that would let me use one of those flip 1 7/8 and 2" balls... Plus, at the top, it would still have the standard 2" receiver tube to slot in my bike rack.

The closest option I could find was using GenY Mega Duty drop hitch.. https://genyhitch.com/product/mega-duty-10k-drop-hitch/

I'm curious if anyone has done this before? And how does this look on the back of a 4Runner? Seems like a huge overkill to have a 10k hitch for what i tow, which is a small fiberglass camper or a utility trailer! Heck, doesn't a 4runner top out around 5k?

I don't switch ball size often but I have a rhino hitch.

I can say swapping the ball size takes seconds.

I recently picked up a B&W tow and stow in the chrome for my limited. It has every size plus its able to tuck away under the vehicle when not in use. It’s an awesome hitch, doesn’t rattle, but it’s a little heavy and a little pricey. I wouldn’t want to have to remove it often but i do have a bad shoulder. I pasted a link below for a look if anyone is interested.

B&W is class act product made in the USA. I almost bought the adjustable one but got by with their standard 4" drop for my boat. The only issue issue I heard of its so good that some are getting stolen at boat ramps.

Funny you mentioned the getting stolen part. I didn’t really think of that when I ordered it until I opened the box and saw how beautiful it was. I immediately went online and came across the infinite rule locking pins which added another $150 to an already expensive hitch. So it cost me nearly $500 bucks for the whole package. It is sexy though. Ha ha.

It is super nice. I put fluid film on inside of my receiver also. Makes it easier to slide it and prevents the rust.

I found this Reese modular hitch on OfferUp cheap. Got 2 inserts so one is ball, other the is bike holder. The square U-bolt antirattle work.
