Replaced both the AC evap and the AC compressor; and the AC in our 2005 4runner with 150,000 miles is literally pumping freezing cold. Like new again.

I wonder if a 4runner can last 30 years and drive and ride well.

The hottest summer days are in Nassau Bahamas.

The AC Compressor failed 5 years ago. The evaporator core failed in 2010 - was replaced by the dealer and lasted 9 years. The evaporator core failed again in 2019.

The OEM evaporator core that came with the car in 2005 failed in 2009

UPDATE: Two weeks after AC shop replaced my evaporator core with a new one I bought them I'm at ice-cold still. No leaks

Labor for job was $880. Well worth the expense.

With new evaporator and Compressor and $1000 4runner AC is cool as ice - going on 5 months

Predict the AC will cool for next 5 years now without recharge.

Got my parts off Amazon. Saved money.

The evaporator core is inside the car behind the radio.
The compressor is in the engine bay and runs off a belt.

I think my Evaporator core is leaking, just had my AC serviced because it was not getting cold and it’s been 1.5 months and it’s losing it’s coolness.:annoyed:

My AC compressor failed and to keep from going back i replaced the entire system including the lines between each component with OEM parts. Very cold now
