    Hi,
I finally bought a gen 3 4runner last June and on the drive home with it the A/C worked for about 15 minutes and then started blowing warm air. I took it to a shop and they evacuated the system and refilled the freon andit worked great for the 15 minute drive home and when i drove it the next day, the A/C worked until it got to be over 80 outside. Any ideas?

You likely have a leak in your system. Did they put dye in when they recharged it? FYI - this is the gen 4 forum.

    Just a couple
Leaking condenser is my guess... it gets heat-soaked and blows warm air... junk yard time!

They wouod have been able to "test" the pressure and see if its leaking. I got a Denso from Ebay ready to install. After installation by an AC tech. It was not cycleing correctlly and he was able to diagnose the expansion valve failed.

The hotter is gets outside. The BETTER the 4R runs. Its like it used the ac system to cool the engine compartment and motor. I can make ice cubes inside when its 100+ in the sun.

take it back to the shop who just dumped freon in it. You paid them to diagnose and fix it
