Looking to test drive this 4Runner tomorrow and take if for a PPI at a local dealer. Looks great from the photos and carfax checks out. Curious what you folks think this would be valued at? 136k miles. Currently listed at $8,500

Mileage? Unless it has very low mileage, that price is pretty high.

Holy crap, $8500 for a '92 cute ute?? Wow!

I have to believe that $8500 would be better invested in something else, but it's your $ and if this is what you really want, ok.

Looks clean enough, but personally I'd ding it for mileage, and bargain VERY hard if the PPI is satisfactory, to you.

Here's a lower mileage clean looking 4Runner to compare it to. Not many of that year around, here.

    Good luck. Whatever you decide.

Yeah, I'm not paying $8500 which is why I came to a forum of enthusiasts to get their input on how they'd value this rig, assuming it's mechanically sound. Anyways, thanks for the helpful input.

I chose to pass on this. The buyer is stubbornly unwilling to move on the price, regardless of the inspection, and appeared borderline offended by the prospect of another offer.
They are clearly overvaluing it which I was already prepared for since they listed the condition as "excellent" with visible body damage needing to be replaced (bumper and running boards).

Prices tend to be higher in California. But that isn't an especially rare optioned 4runner

So true. My sales guy told me tonight his dealership had a guy offering 15K to buy my ride out from under me. Crazy! California. Honestly, have no reason to doubt it being true.
