Which would be fine if buyers actually saw these cost savings rather than getting hit with a price tag $10K higher than the previous generation. I’m in the thick of pricing out a new vehicle now and Toyota’s new pricing structure to get any nice features that most others now consider standard is absurd. If you don’t pay up for the premium packages you get nothing.

Earlier in the year I saw a number of 2025 GAS ORPs on my local dealer lots that are pushing 60k, cheapest way to get power driver seat now. 2026 will see a price increase, no doubt. Good times....for someone I guess.

Still kicking myself for not snagging an in stock J200 LC at that same dealer that they had back in 2021, it was only 85k and I should have known better than passing it up. By the time I went back it was gone.

I suppose a few pennies worth of savings might find its way into your 401k.

I would like to stick with Toyota for this next vehicle but Toyota is making it difficult to do so. o_O

I definitely agree. There is no way I’m paying at least 10,000 out of my pocket to trade my 23 Pro for the new Pro. Especially when mine is paid off and still love my 5th Gen. I did not buy it for a fast vehicle.
If I need a fast vehicle I will drive my Z06!!
Also a lot of these new buyers on Facebook they have never owned a 4Runner. So they are willing to drop all kinds of money just to get one. No matter what the payment is. And then you have the complainers after they buy it.

I’ve never been much for brand loyalty. Not even in sports. (Well, except for the Italian Women’s Curling Team <3<3<3)

Yeah when i would be getting what i paid for my Pro. Lets make the adjustments I know it will be more than 10,000. Unfortunately there are so many people are willing to pay no matter what cause they have to have it. Let’s not forget a lot of these new buyers are not long time Toyota owners. Lol. It’s like these new owners when the C8 corvette came out all these young guys needed that car and now they are losing there butts on selling them. That’s another long story. lol.

Another 5th gen that isn’t stupidly priced and has low mileage is what I really want. That will be a tough find though. The other contenders are the Passport, Pathfinder, Ascent, Palisades and the Bronco has now entered the discussion.

It’s not really brand loyalty. It’s more that the two Toyota’s I have are super reliable and I am now familiar with working on them, have spare sets of wheels and tires, etc. Although the wheels won’t fit on a new 4Runner or Tacoma. :(

I can vouch for the 2.3 EB in the Bronco if you want a manual, that motor is legit!

New Pasport looks nice. Except the dash. But if it’s reliable then I could manage eventually. I think.

The mortal sin of the Passport is their stupid gear selector scheme, they are going their own proprietary button layout. I guess that's the sign of a middling brand, trying all the gimmicks to see what sets them apart, damn the long standing PRNDL stick.

Mods? None. Been there, done that. I like this one stock.
every Friday night in the summer there is a car show on the town Square of a small town, not far from me. There are some very interesting cars, usually 75 to 100.

one area is Corvette corner and there’s about half a dozen or more vettes parked around this one area of the square. Most of the owners look surprisingly similar to the guys in your photo.

Wait a minute, so someone spends 70k + options +T&L fees + possible dealer markup for a 4Runner, and they still leave one button blank? That's some cold stuff.

Imagine being old enough to quote Rodney Dangerfield, and the best use of his time is coming here to argue with and throw shade at a bunch of broke ass kids in 5th gens.

    Must be a dull retirement.
