Strictly used for offroading, and I’m trying to build a circuit with a motion detector for a parking mode. Also going to modify the programming to have a raptor light mode, but trying to understand how to set up how to change it once running. My first time using Arduino microprocessors.

 

Hi, can you share details on this please (part numbers, prices, etc.)? I'm interested in doing the same thing since <1% of scooped hood owners are willing to swap. I'm also in the OC. Thx!

@ataur - This is a picture from my hood as an example...

 

I saw @ataur's newly-installed hood at the shop. The clear coat looked wonderfully even, and, as far as I could tell very well matched. The sun was not coming down on the fender like it was the hood and it still seemed consistent. (That's usually when the differences are amplified.). I was impressed with Minh and the shop. It was also pleasant to see so many Toyota vehicles there; the place was jam-packed with work. That is a testament to his reputation.

He also quoted me an incredible price to repaint @ataur's non-scooped hood to go on my 2020 Off-Road if I decided to go that route.

I didn't budget to pay for a paint job on a hood swap, but this would give me the opportunity to keep my original hood in case the dealership wants to buy my 4R back. Long story...

Westminster had incredi-f***ing-ble pricing. Toyota wants $3k+ for the hood and its painting. Minh might quote differently for other needs and colors, but I can say that his was a fraction of Toyota's price.

I would like a MGM scooped hood for my Limited, but Toyota says its a different hood.. True or not?

 

I have a non-scooped Limited hood from 2011 that looks like a perfect match with my 2020 TRD Off-Road. I want to get rid of the scoop. I believe there's a slightly different bracket that is needed. I will get it installed after a fresh paint job.

I am not absolutely sure of the hardware differences for mounting. You will have to track down a scoop as well. You may want to use the word bulge, believe it or not.

After you get the part numbers, you can Google those part numbers to get a visual confirmation. 5th generation hoods come in two configurations, it appears. Scooped and non-scoped.
