My driver side armrest has developed an annoying squeak and I'm undecided if it's something to bother with the warranty over. I will have owned the vehicle 2 years at the end of March, so I'm well within warranty, but if it's a common problem I may just live with it. Have any of you experienced this?

Let me know what you guys think, take it in, or live with it?

Get a plastic pry tool and use it to shove little pieces of foam between the arm rest and the door card. That'll stop the rubbing noise.

That's a good idea. Is this a common problem? Thanks!

It was a problem in my 2021 Tacoma. I heard a weird squeek/rattle in the drivers side door. I stuffed some foam in there and boom. Problem solved. They probably don't put enough padding or felt between the parts to stop the noise from occurring.

Not sure if it’s common but both my driver and front passenger do that when putting arm weight on them in my 2018.

Just started a few years ago. My theory is dust accumulation in that crack causing friction.

I’ve had it on my ’19 drivers side for a few years now.

I agree with the above. I’ve found a good cleaning and generous application of a vinyl leather rubber (VLR) conditioner, focusing on getting some in the margin between the arm rest pad and door card usually resolves it, for a few months. Sounds like Borracho’s recommendation may be more enduring.

I have had it on my 19 driver side since day 1. I think it is a mis-sized template for the cardboard base under the surface material. It is too large causing it to bow up slightly. I just slide in some silicone lubricant every once in a while to keep it quiet.

Omg!! Mine does this too and I thought it was from the cold, but I live in Florida! Sounds exactly the same. I’ve tried pushing down to pop a clip in or something but I may take it apart and see what’s going on. Only noticed it more when it has been “cooler” out around 40-45 mornings
