^ What lake is this?

 

Its a lake up near Hood Canal in Washington State. I have a cabin up in the woods.

Nothing too special this weekend, but while we were up on a ridge waiting for the hot air balloons to fly over Valley of the Gods on Sunday morning I looked down towards my 4Runner after a vehicle drove by and kicked up dust that was nicely backlit just after sunrise.

Did you do any dirt around there? The back way, Navaho Rd 6440, is freaking amazing...

 

near record low mountain snowfall in my region, still hasn’t snowed in my town. it’s like the 2010 Winter Olympics fail all over again lol.

Oh yeah. There were a few tourists like that. Lying down in the middle of the road. Luckily there’s not much traffic in the winter.

It’s such a great area to explore. I did a little dirt driving. Lower Butler Wash, Vallejo of the Gods, Muley Pt, the MV Loop (kind of disappointing with all of the tourist traffic barely able to drive a dirt road).

Thanks for that tip on Rd 6440. That looks like a great drive next time.

 

Oh man I love VoG. One of the best camping spots I've ever had.

6440 kind of cuts the corner on Hwy 160 east of Kayenta and runs northwest behind Monument Valley and then comes back out on 160 EDIT on US 163. Maybe 20 miles? I think like a lot of res roads it's restricted to non tribal members but there's no signage coming in from the east - there is signage on the west end. There's amazing rock formations that the road runs through but they're so close that you can't even get a good picture - one of those places that the memories are better than the photos. It does get a little hard to follow sometimes and we ended up in a wash by accident, and spent a while chasing possible tire tracks on top of a mesa trying to find the road ...

That sounds great. But I’m not sure I’m looking at the correct route. What I’m seeing is 6440 leaving Hwy 160 East of Kayenta then the road name changes to Cane Valley Wash rd, then Gypsum Creek Rd, then Halgaitoh Wash Rd., which then dumps into Hwy 163. Is that the route you drove?

 

Yes I'm sorry, I said 160 to 160 that should have read 160 to 163. I have fat fingers! I edited the post in case anyone else reads it and cares about the route.

It's on Merritt Island in Florida, near Cape Canaveral.

 

Not sure if they are a thing, or just a button .

We did go hit the giggle button and do some awesome doughnuts in the High School Stadum parking lot!

New member to the forum so figured I'd post up a picture. Sadly I don't have many of my 4Runner so will need to work on that. Here is one somewhat "scenic".

 

So, total snow was about 5" in SE New Mexico
4runner runs great!

 

I spent this weekend hiking along the San Rafael Reef. The temperature was comfortable in the mid-40's and it was mostly sunny out, which I think was a bit different from much of the rest of the country...
