So I own a 2020 SR5 4runner. I had recently bought these tires and rims off of marketplace that came off a newer Tacoma (dont remember the year). When I went to put on the wheels, the rims lined with the lug nut studs but it was as if they wouldnt go on all the way. Even though the tire itself is the exact same size. Is there anything I can do like buying spacers to fix the problem or something else that'd fix my dilemma?

Any idea what the back spacing and off set are?

I believe the stock TuRD rims are 17x7 with a 4.5 back spacing w/ +4 offset.

What are they hitting and by how much?

    Oooh look, another mod.....
That is an 18 inch wheel/tire combo. Your 4Runner has 17 inch tires.

It fits because of the bolt pattern, but the offset is why it juuuuuuuuuust won't fit.

My first thought was different wheel size as well but the tire in the pic has R17 on it

You are right. I was quoting the specs from a 2025 Toyota 4Runner, not the 2025 Toyota Tacoma. My mistake! Here are the specs for the Tacoma wheel:

    • Wheel Size: 17x7.5
    • Bolt Pattern: 6x139.7mm
    • Hub Bore: 95.1mm
    • Offset: +55mm

....again, it's the offset that is giving him an issue.

To be honest I dont know the answer to that. All I know is those the tires in the picture are the exact same size ones I have on the 4runner now. Both the OEM wheels and TRD offroad wheels have the same bolt pattern. But while trying to put on the new wheels, it was as if the lug nut studs werent long enough. I figured out the bore size on those rims is like 95.1mm. I asked this same question on reddit and they said the TRD rims have a +55 offset while the OEMs have a +15.

Is there anyway to get around that offset issue like spacers or adapters?

Yes, you can use wheel spacers if your offset is too large, but it's generally recommended to choose wheels with the correct offset in the first place. Wheel spacers can be used to compensate for a larger offset, effectively pushing the wheel further out from the hub. However, they can also introduce some drawbacks, such as increased wear on components and potential handling issues.

Offset is whats off. Pass on wheel spacers. Agree with @Borracho Loco

    Its the hub bore
The new wheel has a 95.1mm hub bore
The older wheels like what is on your 5th gen has a 106.1mm hub bore

THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL IS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO GO OVER YOUR HUB BORE

The offset is way off as well, even if you took the new wheels to a machine shop and had the hubs bored out as soon as you try to bolt the new wheels up the tires are 110% going to hit the a-arm and or spindle. The new wheel is going to move the inner part of the tire inward 1.58" and i dont think you have but about 1/2-3/4" before you hit the upper A-arm.
You gotta have hub centric spacers that fit the 106mm bore of your wheel and also the 95mm bore of the new wheel plus give you a closer to stock offset like adding 1.5" or even 2"

I found a 106mm to 95mm adapter/spacers so that these tires can indeed fit on the 4runner. Would that affect my offset at all??

Any adaptor is certainly going to affect your offset, you need to figure out what the thickness of the adaptor is. Its most likely going to be an inch thick or more.

The adapater acts as a spacer. I can get a 1.5in or 1.25in

Link? Make sure the adapter is 95mm on the side facing the wheel, and not the other way around.

And what is the stud size on the adapter? 4th gen Tacomas use M14 studs compared to M12 previously. The lug hole size is larger to accommodate larger diameter lugnut shanks. Your stock M12 lugnuts would wallow in the larger holes, though I believe there are thick-wall lugnuts recently available aftermarket.
