4Runner rust and Safe T Cap

Does anyone have any first hand experience using a Safe-T-Cap on a rust area on a 4Runner? What has been your experience?

Also after the frame is cleaned would you recommend Fluid Film or POR 15? Or something else?

If you stripping the metal in the affected area down to “bright shiny” before painting, then you might want to consider a first coat of zinc. The zinc will protect the frame in the repaired areas as well as possibly give some cathodic protection downstream of the repaired area.

Then topcoating with por or paint should protect the area pretty well.

Did you end up using the Safe T Cap product for your frame repair? I am looking into the same product for my 2002. The shop that I had investigate the frame told me it would take about 35 hours of labor to repair quoting approximately $2500 total labor.
