    ^this- try this first

It sounds like the truck is running in "limp" mode. That happened to my '03 once when I hit a slush puddle. It was like the ECU had a brain fart. It accelerated slowly and wouldn't down-shift.

If this sounds like your issue, and the gas cap wasn't the problem, try resetting the ECU. You can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes. This will clear the codes or whatever is causing it to act up.

If the problem comes back, there's probably something else wrong.

Good luck! Let us know what you find out

    I have 2 options.
    1. Fuse - happened so suddenly.
    2. Fuel filter - coming with diesels I know the importance. If you got water in your tank... Did it rain recently?
    Hope you get home.
    Sorry, new to Toyota...

No I'm gonna have to drive my secondary Vehicle until my friend has time to install the part. It Sucks how he has to take the whole entire Top part of the engine apart though.

Yeah, sounds like a project. At least you won't have to pay a mechanic.
