rainy day, used 4r garage to replace the Lamborghini battery, terminated harness & fuse holder - with the help of the mad scientist's.

I lost count how many times I implored them to not cut any wires
Lamborghini fired up for the first time since my brother-in-law gifted it to me, let the kiddos take it for rips in the rain.

 

Getting them involved in repairs for things that they do are good lessons in "actions have consequences".
Maybe they see Dad doing 4Runner mods and wanted to mod something of their own?
Plus they get the enjoyment of successful repairs and go out in the Lambo for donuts on the driveway!

Paint finished but floor was dirty and had to clean up before I started to reinstall everything back into the garage.





This photo is pretty much how it stands for now. I could probably get the 4Runner in during bad weather with a bit of manuvering.

You are far from a hoarder - maybe a little OCD but I think that is a good thing IMHO I call it attention to detail One time my friend said I was anal and I told her I thought that was a very derogatory term what is the opposite? Slob? Anyway super nice garage but what is the speckled floor that your wife wants? Looks like you have already done this?

 

Looks good buddy. You are well organized and appear to use the most the space you have.

I long for the day when I could have a larger garage but that means giving up a home I love, area I love, and good neighbors.

I suppose like anything else in life it involves tradeoffs.

Your floor looks great from the pics you have. Myself I would save your money but that’s just me. Put it towards your kids college, first car or retirement

 

I agree about tradeoffs in life. When we were just starting out in life our family was strapped for money, and the home we built was small with no garage. We've added to it over the years, and it's quite comfortable, maybe even a bit too large for just my wife and I; we never had an opportunity to build a garage, but like you, we'd have to give up a great home, one of the best areas in ABQ to live in, and good neighbors to sell and get a home with a garage. Not to mention not the best economy to sell/buy a home. We'll make do with the carport I posted in post #2.

Yeah buddy I will say your car port looks better than many I see up my way in Michigan much more secure. Up here they are aluminum garbage

I have 18ft boat I inherited from my Grandfather years ago. If I park on an angle I can keep in garage but then 4R is outside. So I have an extra long boat cover so summer to protect sides of boat from sun.

Some day I would like to see if they can “bump out” my garage a few more feet to house the boat motor and then park 4R on one side and boat on the other.

I am blessed to 2.5 car garage and it seems all the new homes have only 2 or 1 car.

It amazes me all the folks parking F150s outside since they don’t fit in most garages. That was the appeal of the 4R to still be in garage and still had decent towing capacity for an aluminum boat.

by speckled floors I mean the fancy coating where you paint and sprinkle it with some stuff, or however the heck they do it.

I think you’re talking about that epoxy type flooring. Do you haven cracks in you cement now in the garage?

I am guessing your temps are more moderate out in BC versus Michigan but here we get cracks in uninsulated garages anyway that are old. I think that Epoxy flooring looks nice but here anyway they don’t seem good at filling in existing cracks.

An old girlfriend here paid almost $4k usd to have a one car garage done. So I would assume double maybe if you have a two car garage. To me seems like a lot for a floor in a garage. It is handy to clean up fluids though. Myself I’ll keep that $8k in the market place for my retirement

 

2 and half years since our garage floor was done. I have almost 1000 sq garage floor which I keep 3 cars in it. Also my heat is in the floor. To this day still looks like it was just done. They did an awesome job and mine was 6000.

Is the heat in your floor electric or do your water lines run underneath? My neighbor is considering a heated driveway to get rid of snowblowers and ice prevention etc. Apparently they can heat the driveway either way.

 

Mine has the water lines in the concrete so my oil heats my hot water. It’s considered radiant heat.

There is a storage place in metro Detroit with its own track, club and you have a garage with your hang out condo. This is for the real players.
