Hey everyone, I’m new to posting here but certainly not new to reading the forums.

This is my 92 3.0 with 4x4 that I have owned for about 5 years now. 3 years ago the rear axle bearing blew and so it sat until last summer when I could afford to start working on it. Naturally, with any 30 year old car, you start to find a lot more issues as you go, so long story short- this summer started the adventure of rebuilding the heads and restoring the engine bay.

At this point in time, the heads are being rebuilt and I am restoring/replacing any broken parts I come across. Up until this point, many people/mechanics have told me to replace the motor, and I disagreed mainly because I cannot afford to, but also because this motor refuses to die. Despite having the original (leaking) head gaskets, a rusted through coolant system, misfires on 2 cylinders and deteriorating parts, it miraculously still runs at 212,000 miles.

This post is a sort of log on the restoring adventure and I will be posting a couple updates until the finish. I have read through dozens of forums on here, but regardless, I’d still love any advice from other who have gone through the rebuild process!
