My 2000 4runner sr5 came with no roof rack or crossbars and I can't find the part online. I was wondering if any of you know where to get crossbars that will fit on a stock roof. Just so I can mount a simple ski rack or bike rack. This is what the top looks like.

On mine, the front to back pieces are far larger and I think my car came with cross beams automatically.

I would hunt junkyards and get the whole shebang. I bet it's not a hugely needed part and most 2001-2002 4Runners I have seen came with a full rack....which should fit a 2000.

I would hunt boneyards...in and around your area...and just checking boneyards nationwide...also check out craigslist, FB market place, and other potential 4runner forums...good luck

Yep, junkyards are gonna be your best bet. A lot of them sell online nowadays. Search for some near larger cities and I’ll bet you can find a full rack with a small investment of your time and not a whole lot of cash.

I recently picked up a pair of rear tail lights for my '97...outta bone yard...taken from a '97 that got T-Boned...and the price was very reasonable...and they cleaned up real well....so junk yards are the way to go (at times)

We have two 98 limiteds.I took the perpendicular cross bars off of both. They sit right on the paint and ruin it.
Still have the front to back rails on if I ever need to mount a rack of some kind.
Toyota corrected this on my 5th gen. The perpendicular cross bars are raised up off the paint because they mount to the side rails.

Junk yards, or maybe even off someone that wants to get rid of theirs; for example I tossed my perfectly good roof rack in the garbage.

Removed mine cause I went Sherpa Equipment Co since it carries my traction boards, awning, and more -
