Time for new tires and I am moving up to 285s with a 2.5" lift. What tires do you guys recommend? I live in San Diego so - desert riding, trails, and I think I want a snow rated tire for trips to the mountains in the winter...

Personally I would look into the new Toyo AT3. It's snow rated, I think 60k mile rated, and is available in a standard load 285 as well as C and E load, I believe.

I live in New England and am considering this tire for snow performance.

Toyo AT3 has been good for me so far. If you're not playing in the rocks, you can get an SL rated version that only weighs 46 lbs.

I’m running the Toyo AT III’s. So far a fantastic tire and quiet on the road. I’ve not been off road yet so no insight on that aspect.

I heard the Toyo AT3s are a bit noisy on the freeway, thoughts? This is mostly my daily commuter but use for weekend fun.

I've got the SL rated and they are pretty quiet. Also my 285 tire and rim combo wieghs less than the stock 265s

They do produce a higher pitched hum (load range "C" here) but it's not obnoxious. I don't think it's any more noisy than most other AT's.

Some of the less aggressive AT's might be a bit quieter.

No need to cross your fingers. You picked a solid tire!

Solid tire, just nervous about serious rubbing

Looks good, I like the white letters! Yours is the first I've seen with the white letters out, I liked that they're just outlines and not solid.

I have been very happy with my Goodyear Duratrac 285/70/17 for off-road and winter driving. Not much more road noise than the stock Nittos.
