Is a proximity sensor being triggered? If so it may be auto braking because it thinks something is behind you.

I don’t think the TRD Sport has them, but any beeping? Does the dash display Reverse? Any physical obstruction or movement whatsoever? Is the truck on?

We got rid of my wifes Jeep Limited X after finding out that it WILL NOT move if you have a door open, cracked, ect. Like when you wanna move up a few feet and you just slide in, leave one leg hanging out with the door open and put it in gear to pull forward. As soon as you put the shifter in Drive, the vehicle locks up, and auto shifts to Park and throws up all sorts of alarms on the dash.
Also, when you are backing up if you get to close to something it would auto-brake and put itself in park. Collision avoidance i believe.
ALSO, if you ever get stuck like 1 tire off the side of the road in wet grass, when the traction control kicks in it wont let you do anything, it wont let you give it more throttle, it wont let you back up, you cant spin the tires at all. It was a lowered 2wd model and one tire off the side of the road in wet grass / slick dirt in an unknown area forced us to call a tow. We got rid of that thing and got her back in a 4wd 4R.

Cant say on the new 2025, but i suspect your rear backup sensors are freaking out cause you got something so close and its not letting you back up thinking you are about to hit something.

Hi - Go to Settings, turn off PKSB. Found this out with my One Up bike rack in the hitch. Proximity sensor still beeps but auto braking is off. Some users have created a trailer with no brakes and 3 feet long to “fool” the system. Toyo needs firmware update to account for racks.

Reminds me of the Mercedes G-wagon. I needed to move it a few feet. Wouldn't move with the door open, dashboard said I was in danger of falling out of the vehicle! Closed the door, still wouldn't move, dashboard said I was in danger of falling out of the vehicle! Truck wouldn't move until I put the seat belt on. If someone gave me a vehicle like this, I would sell it immediately!
