PTR61-89210 fit my NON-KDSS, 2019 TRD Off Road ?

Does the kit come with everything to install or do I have to re-use some of my parts ?

 

From what I see on mine that is all you need. Re-use the stock UCA and Rear spring. On a side note I will say TRD Fox shocks are not worth. I have posted one suggestion instead. My reason is TRD Pro fox are not intended to provide lift (IMO). As members here will suggest there are many other good suspension kits out there..

How is it they manage to lift the 4R 1".........did Toyota and Fox engineers miss something? Asking for the OP.

 

I should have corrected as "a proper lift". You can even get 2-3 in lift with stock SR5/ TRD ORP shocks by just changing the springs. (Yes I have first hand experience doing that) No need of complicated engineering sir.

All I was saying was, OP can spend the money for better suspension setup than TRD Fox where you get 2.5-3in lift with better wheel articulation. I think it was 0.7in lift when I measured TRD Fox vs stock. Now I don't have a stock one near by to compare. All my buddies have lifted. Only 1 TRD ORP with KDSS who is about 1 hour away from me..

Again please don't get me wrong, it's just my opinion where I prefer longer shocks with lift.

 

Well first of all, I don't want a 2-3" lift.
Secondly, if I can get the 2021 TRD Pro Fox suspension parts for $1500 NIB, I think that would be a bargain.
And lastly, I prefer OEM parts over aftermarket for fit, finish, & the R&D that was involved.

 

That's a good point.

I have noticed reading the lift/suspension threads, that those who are experiencing squeaks, rattles and premature wear (ball joints, bushing, shocks, etc) are running aftermarket suspension components.

Very few posts with stock suspension issues.

 

I'd definitely spend the money on something better than the pro bro stuff. Plenty of pro bro owners have experienced noise or other issues. Technically the Pro Bro shocks are aftermarket. Fox makes them.

 

Yes I know that that Fox makes them, but I would bet that the Toyota engineers required Fox to certain specs on the TRD Pro coilover.

 

Bilstein 8112/8100 are better shocks for a similar price.

OEM "fit, finish and R&D" doesn't mean shit when they've been recalled.

 

Wow, slow down. Some religiously respect TRD PRO. You don't want to get them angry..

 

Toyota made a call to Fox and had them make a "performance" shock on a budget. That's the specs they negotiated.

Yes I know they have been recalled & they changed the spring perch on the updated model which many believe was making the "clunk". I had Bilstein 5100's on my '10 4R & I did like them. I don't want any more than 1" lift in the front & was considering the updated TRD Pro Fox if I got them for $1500 NIB. I am just researching as much as I can right now.

 

I’ve got the updated Fox TRD shocks in my 2021. They ride great, and the small lift looks good. No clunking whatsoever. If you can get a good price, go for it.

 

what exactly is the lift amount with these?

 

1 inch up front. Back is stock height. Granted, pretty sure that is pre settling in and sliders, etc.

As said above, about an inch. Nothing extreme, obviously. But I think it's enough to improve the stance.

 

Ok. I am wondering if I do the eibach springs (when they come available) if it will provide enough lift to run 285/70/17 tires... (Either Nitto RG or Toyo AT3).

 

Wait for the Eibachs and go with 255/80/17 RGs or Falken Wildpeaks.

yes there is Eibach thread look it up and some one on this site got their 21 pro LR fitted with the new springs i think he is running 285s

 

I’m in the same bout and thinking about going this route. How did to fox TRD pro suspension effect the nose dive on braking

 

If I had the opportunity to install a Fox Pro suspension, I’d consider it.

This question has been asked a thousand times but is the Pro suspension stiffer than the stock OEM suspension. If yes, I might pass, I’m one of the very few people on this forum that likes the soft/squishy ride.

 

Why not just add a spacer for 1" lift? $50. Thats what I did. It still rides stock. When I had my Pro I added the Eibach springs and that was perfect amount of lift and leveling. I was able to run 285/70's. Now I'm just running a 1/2" spacer up front on my SR5P and 275's. Yes my Pro sat higher by about 2", but this one looks good enough to me and it was cheap.

 

I've been wanting to do just this to level up the front... but just wondering though, if adding anything aftermarket, even a 1/2" spacer lift to the front, wouldn't that void the manufacturer warranty? I mean, if anything goes wrong, they can always use that as an excuse saying "he mod'd it, so warranty is voided". Been reading about that needle bearing issue some of these 4runners have and some dealers have blamed it on the lift and the tires etc..

Go with the Fox TRD kit. These are designed for long life and can handle just as well as aftermarket. In all my experiences aftermarket parts are designed to see mechanical failure much quicker than OEM.

 

So...not to beat a dead horse here.....but a neighbor has a TRD Pro which he promptly removed the TRD Fox suspension system within the first 1000 miles. He has offered it to me (I have a '21 ORP) for sale. What is this worth? What do I gain "upgrading" from my stock '21 ORP suspension to the TRD Fox suspension?

 

Worth? Best answer may be found in > 'buy- sell - trade'

Gain? That really depends on what your intended use would be. If for on road use only....probably, not much. Others may or may not agree with that assessment.
