I'm looking at installing a 2020+ OEM Radio w/ CarPlay in my 2017 4R but they are so expensive. If I buy just the 2020+ radio without the Navigation/GPS/Sirius XM box, can I use the one out of my 2017 radio? Do they have the same plugs? I think the only difference between the radios if Entune 2.0 vs 3.0 but does that matter for the GPS box?

    Any input is appreciated.

You did say any. I would highly recommend looking for aftermarket Alpine, Kenwood or Sony for that crazy price they are asking. Its really not worth anywhere near the price they are asking and aftermarket will be far superior.

That said buy a used one and all you should need is a transplant harness and the specific compatible & head unit, its going to take some digging.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

You can do it, but you need to buy a custom harness to make it work.

Man, I agree with @Ripper238. I would go with aftermarket purchased at Crutchfield. They will guide you with all of the connecting harnesses so there's no wiring issues.

I did the crutchfield method with speakers and aftermarket head unit.

In hindsight I should have selected a head unit with stand alone NAV & capability for CDs...

My biggest bother with aftermarket units is that they all lose the knobs and it creates a lot of "dead space" in the head unit area.
