I've been noticing a sound from my 4runner for a while now and cannot pinpoint it. I hear it coming from underneath the driverside and it is very noticeable when at idle (for example: at a drive thru window). The only video i can find that sounds identical to what I am hearing is this youtube video...Has anyone experienced this and knows of a remedy? Any help is appreciated....

At idle nothing should be turning
You sure is not coming from the serpentine belt?

Maybe a dry idler or tensioner pulley supporting the serpentine belt?

I'll take a look as soon as the wifey gets back. Ive noticed it get louder (squeak) as the ac fan kicks on....then it goes away and then comes back. It sounds exactly like the youtube video i embedded.

A trick I do the help find weird sounds like this is to take a long screw driver (any kind) and touch it to various parts of the engine. Put your ear on the other end and you'll be able to hear the sounds transmitted through the screw driver like a stethoscope. It helps eliminate all the echos and the various sounds from other parts of the engine while you probe and listen.

Sounds like A/C clutch kicking on then off or off then on.
