    Hi,
Looking for a newer vehicle. It will be my daily driver. I like to spend time in gravel/dirt roads. No rock climbing.

    I have two options:
    1. 2019 TRD Pro (18000 mi) for $42000.
    2. 2022 (new) TRD Off Road for $50000.

I know that the new one has better infotainment and safety. May need a new set of tires. If I go with the Pro I save cash. I currently drive a 2017 Jeep Patriot so I am stepping up in either case. My other option is a Jeep Trailhawk. The 4runner should provide me with a better, longer lasting vehicle and better resale.

Thoughts and advice is really appreciated!

    Thc

The price on the Pro seems awfully low. I'd expect it to be closer to $52,000 especially with that mileage.

Unless you need the new safety features, I'd buy the Pro and pocket the cash.

What color Pro? I love my 19 but the only reason I wish it was a 20 or newer is for that head unit but I'm working on fixing that soon.

I think I am fine without the safety features. I agree, the price is very reasonable!

It's more offroad ready. The Pro's will be worth more as well. I'd definitely check the vehicle history report. Make sure it's not a major accident truck or something. Look it over really well for rust.

yeah, no idea where you live but go over it very well considering the price. look for possible flood damage as well as damage from an accident.

That's the best Pro color! I'd go with that one for the color alone, haha.

+1 to this. The price on the PRO seems suspiciously low. I could almost get that for my '19 ORP with 80K miles.

    Also check that it's not a faux-PRO.

A lot of folks like to put all the pro parts on an off-road premium and try to pass it off as a pro. A dealership could get in trouble for attempting to sell something like that, but that price just seems fishy.

Pro is basically just a suspension and a badge. The OR has the same off road capability. I had a Pro that I loved, but I think the '22 OR with CarPlay and some of the safety tech like rear cross traffic alert is worth the extra money.

It's good suspension parts though. The fact that it's a Pro means a higher value. If safety tech and convenience tech is a higher priority to the OP then buy what you prefer most.

I would go for the 22 it'll have more features and be under warranty. Only good thing about that 19 pro is that voodoo wasn't made on base or trail edition models.

Part of it depends on if you plan on modifying the suspension. The suspension on the pro is the biggest upgrade, but if you want to increase lift and go to extended travel or long travel suspension, you're better off starting with an off-road.

The new off-road premium will have some safety features and tech features that the pro might not have. So that's another thing to consider.

Best color! I might be a little bias tho...

Depends I suppose. For a brand new one through the dealership you're looking at about 5k which is just robbery. I've found a few online for around 1-1500. But the real issue is I need the new JBL amplifier as well. I have not found one online for any cheaper than $1300 which is the same as the dealership. There are definitely cheaper options like the CTH T10 but I've heard of a lot of issues. Also look into Sony or Pioneer. I just don't like the excess sides or the floating displays so this is the best option for me

I would go for the '22. You get warranty, know where the car has been etc.. In this market, $50k for a new OR is a good deal, honestly.
Agree with others, the price on the Pro seems suspiciously low. In this market, it seems suspiciously low on any 4x4 4R of any trim.
Another vote for the OR is if you really do get into off roading, you may eventually rip all of the stuff off the Pro that makes it a pro (ie suspension, wheels, tires) and replace with different/better options.

All that said, assuming the Pro has a clean history report, you will be very happy with both, especially coming from the Patriot. Enjoy the hunt!

No matter which you choose its a horrible time to buy a vehicle unless you can pay cash and avoid the new interest rates.

It is a rough time to buy a car due to pricing. Rates are probably region and definitely bank dependent. My credit union, while offering crazy mortgage rates in the 5-6% range, is still offering new and used auto rates in the 2.59% - 2.74% range, which is still great.
