Just happen to see this unit for sale 2018 TRD ORP with 25k miles. Is it me or is this abused

Check out the trailer hitch and frame rust and even screws holding on mud flaps.

I am in Michigan so maybe this is salt and mud and abuse?

    What are your thoughts?

Looks fine to me. I would clean, POR15 the welds and fluid film the chassis.

Judging by the dirt on everything, i would say it lacked some attention. I would pass and look outside the rust belt. Unless you don't plan on keeping it or the "price is right".

I actually ordered a new 2021 but figured I’d look underneath a used one to see how it wore over 3 years.

I live in MI also but don’t plan on it ever seeing salt or winter. I plan to only use as May-Sept vehicle and be garage kept.

So I am hoping mine won’t rust like this.

I keep debating finding someone to rustproof or drive 150 miles to someone who could use fluid film. Initially I thought as long as it does not see winter I will be good. Just don’t want to have any regrets

You can do fluid film in your driveway. A small pancake compressor and spray gun is all that is needed.

Heck, you can even buy the aerosol cans and apply, just make sure the can is warm prior to application. 10 minutes in a bucket of hot water, etc.

Toyota trucks are very prone to rusting if you are not taking care of the undercarriage like you should be. If you neglect them they will rust badly, fluid film like mentioned above can be applied in the driveway and works great.

I just hit spots with Rustoleum Rust Reformer primer once or twice a year. Dead simple and has been working for me.
