Thanks in advanced for the help. First post, new to the community but not the vehicle. Used to drive a 2004 limited, now my wife drives a 2017 limited and I drive a taco. My wife would like to get power steps installed eventually because she's about 5' 2". I know the AMP power steps aren't technically compatible with the limited because of the extra trim piece around the edge. I've scoured the forums/google/etc and not many people seem to even talk about it. I believe I could remove the trim piece and then be able to install the power steps as if it were an SR5 or something, but haven't been able to confirm that. Has anyone found or been able to modify power steps to work with the limited trim?

The thing throwing a kink in all my research, which shows it's not really compatible, is a Youtube video showing a limited trim with the power steps....

    Thanks again!

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
my dads limited has them, it came from the factory like that but I'm not sure what option package it has, not all of them come like that. If you have them on I don't think you can have front mud guards though

and welcome to the site

So the reason nothing comes up when you search power steps/electric running boards/etc, is because Toyota calls them automatic running boards and they're only sold on the gunmetal grey. Hope this helps someone in the future, for now I'm just the idiot in the corner who needs to expand his vocabulary in the google search.

Ya, learning more as I read, there's weird combo packages. If you only want the the running boards, website only lets you build in gunmetal. If you want running boards and third row seats, it only lets you build silver and white. I'm sure if you asked you could get whatever color you wanted, I'm probably doing something wrong. Still researching but I might just wait for AMP to figure out an aftermarket solution (and help my wallet) and purchase a cheap set for now to hold her over.

Nice vehicles by the way, sharp pair. I tried to convince my wife for two Tacomas when I swapped from my 4runner but she was pretty dead set after she drove my mom's 2015 limited.

Fun play on words with the last name ;)
