My wife has a 2016 4runner limited with a dome light issue. The rear pass-side door will not turn on the dome light and will not indicate that the door is open on the dash. The really annoying thing is the door switch works fine as it turns on the doors courtesy light. I only noticed this problem recently and don't know if it ever worked since she bought it new... any suggestions ?

It sounds like a stuck or bad jamb switch.
Open the door and look to the left side of the opening of the door where the ‘shiny silver striker’ is…… there is a black rubber bellows that covers the jamb switch.
Push-Cycle the button in and out and see if it starts working.
If not pull the rubber cover gently off and remove the bolt holding it to the truck and you will find a ground wire attached.
Touch the ground wire to something metal and the light should illuminate and door open icon should glow, if so replace the switch with a new part and reinstall the rubber cover.
