2015 Excessive Brake Pedal Pressure

    2015 Toyota 4Runner
    Have owned vehicle for 3-years with ordinary non-towing use and it has only 40,000 miles. Brakes work without issue except that the driver really has to press the brake pedal with a lot of pressure to stop. By comparison our 2017 Rav4 requires very minimal brake pedal pressure. Is this typical? The brake pedal travel is not excessive.

    how does it feel if you pump it a few times, does it get stiffer ?
