Unfortunately I recently purchased full skids from another vendor recently but the pic of the perforated gas skid has me intrigued. I've seen some other centerline skids that have holes to "prevent suction" in mud - what is the purpose of the large perforated holes on your gas tank skid? Drainage to help prevent corrosion? Eliminate suction? To lighten the weight? Aesthetic design coice?

Two main reasons to let dirt, mud, and water fall down as well as the weight.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense as long as the final design still provides adequate protection. I've read a lot about skids needing to be dropped and cleaned to reduce corrosion from mud buildup but not sure how often people do that once installed. Seems like a logical design choice

Yeah, we didn't want that to happen to our customers. Taking a skid plate off and on is a lot of unnecessary work.

Come on @jake long15 all this advertising without a good discount???:rolleyes:lol. A skid plate it’s on my top list to do. However it’s mainly for oil changes. Im getting tired of removing the OEM skid plate all the time to do a simple oil change. I was looking at the aluminum Rival skid but unsure of the quality and durability, it does however has the two good access door for the oil filter and oil drainage. I may go with RCI though as they have a current sell going on now!

Any future plans to accommodate KDSS? All Off Road models in Canada come with KDSS so you're missing a part of the market.

I am now confused. You replied to me stating they were compatible with KDSS which you have since deleted, and are again stating it is not compatible. I am in the market for full skids but am losing confidence here.

Has anyone ever thought of putting like a 3" hole in their aluminum plate where the oil filter is ?

I had to take my plate off to do rhe oil change last week, all in all it wasn't too bad - one little jackstand helped keep it up once it was in position... I guess the question remains is how many oil changes before I get tired of doing that?? But it'd also nice to pop it off and inspect things from below!

A majority of the aftermarket skid plates have "doors" to access the oil filter

Yeah I went for the oem one but that's like half priced

All in all not bad had to chop off some metal to make it fit for the kdss

Not a big deal to remove the plate every now and then I suppose

Get rid of your factory plastic skid plates and replace them with ours! The plastic skid plates are not strong and can crack. Ours hold up well and can take a beating against the rocks. You can either get our skid plates in aluminum or steel. It's worth the investment! You will have the assurance of safety and the peace of mind that your vehicle is equipped for whatever the trail throws your way. Find them here!-

I wish you would make a metal filler plate for us guys using the TRD engine skid . It would take the place of the front plastic splash piece that gets removed when using the TRD skid .
