Are these plug and play or is some adapter needed?

Thanks. Some say you need adapter, others say no.

The adapters are cheap and Fred Anderson Toyota has a 25% off sale. Buy the adapters and if you don’t need them return them.

Plug and play. No adaptor needed. I swapped to the 2022 for a year or so but then went back to OEM 2011.
Remove plastic cover, remove 2 nuts, remove connector, slide old light out, slide new light in, reattach connector, put nuts, done.
Strangely my OEM 2011 had a better fit than the 2022 OEM.

From what I remember, the newer ones have 1 plug connector to. Are you planning to go after market or OEM ?

OEM. Found a brand new pair and I like the look of them better than mine.

the newer tail lights have 3 plugs into 1 harness under that outer cover. That's where the above wiring adapter they are talking about comes into play.

not mine below, but just checked mine (2018) on the shelf in the garage and it's the same.

I liked the newer look too. Then I started seeing 1000000 4 runners with the same light and not a lot with the older 10-13 light. So I swapped back.
