    Hello,

I am new to this forum. I have a quick question. I have a 2008 4x4 SR5 that is need of new tires. The current size on there is 265/65/R17. I have 4 brand new 265/70/R17 tires. Does anyone know if these will work? I don't know a lot about tires and I don't want to put these on only to find out I screwed up my steering or transmission or whatever. I don't think there is a huge difference but I haven't been able to find a solid answer to this question. So I figured I'd ask other Toyota folks what they think. Thanks in advance....

Might have very minor rubbing in reverse and full lock but not bad.

Thank you, I appreciate the responses and information. I am curious as to why you feel it would only rub in reverse or when the 4 wheel is engaged?

Reverse when turning out of a parking spot the wheel rotates at an odd angle and rubs sometimes. Hobo means when at full lock is when your steering is fully turned to the right or left. Not locked in 4x4.

4 wheel because that usually means you are compressing the suspension and reverse because the front squats when in reverse the same way the rear squats when in forward gears.

And yes this is what I meant not 4x4 but the above still applies.

2007 limited, running Daystar 2.5/1.5 with 265/70/R17 Falken A/T3W on stock 17in wheels,Love the tires. The only rub I have is on the UCA’s at full lock. Bugs the hell out of me knowing it rubs.

How’s the tire rubbing the UCA at full lock? Pictures

When full lock, it kinda goes under the front of the UCA and touches it slightly. If that makes sense. Trucks out now, I’ll take a pic later.

If it's rubbing with the 2.5/1.5 lift, then I think the rubbing would be even worse on the non-lifted 2008. But a hiway tire might not be as bad as an AT.

My truck is not lifted and I will be using a highway tire. They are FIRESTONE TIRE TRANSFORCE HT LT265 /70 R17. I'll let you know how I make out next week when I have them installed.

I e never seen that... maybe you need to adjust your alignment I have. 2” lift with 265/70r17 and have no rubbing on the control arm at all didn’t have any when I had no lift either. That’s very strange.
