    Good evening

    2006 4 runner 4.0 engine. 175k miles

It's my Mil car and always serviced. Recent trip to the tire shop for rotation, they told her she needed new radiator hoses and coolant to the tune of $450. I haven't looked at the car, but I have changed hoses and coolant in a few.

Any thing tricky about this one?

    Thanks

Very straight forward, I’d change the water pump at the same time. Very roomy once the fan is out. One set back for me is that it took me longer to install the spring clamp on the radiator driver side than to do the whole waterpump and radiator swap. Zero space for any pliers to fit it that corner. With the new radiator hose, its much more hard to slip the clamp over. You’ll see.

Ok hold on a tire shop said you need new radiator hoses and a coolant swap…? Maybe get a second opinion from an actual mechanic?

Either way new hoses and fluid can be done in an afternoon. YouTube is your friend. And to the above poster I think maybe needing new hoses is a far cry from saying he needs a full water pump swap. Having said that if he’s at 175k and it hasn’t been done then HOOEY I agree new water pump, thermostat, accessory belt… the whole gamut
