    Hello 4Runners Forum!

    The motor for my 2001 4Runner sunroof stopped working. I am unable to open/close with the button for my sunroof unless I get a new motor.

    I think my sunroof might be slightly open/not fully closed. Is there a way for me to manually close the sunroof without a motor? I just want to make sure water doesnt leak in from the rain or whatever.

    Thanks

    I can't speak to the 2001 4Runner specifically, but yes, there is usually a way to close them manually. I believe you have to access the motor which is usually behind the overhead console. There should be some sort of bolt or screw which you can turn to move the motor which will move the glass.

    Edit:

    This isn't specific to the 4Runner, but it should be similar

    @RedWings44 Thanks!!!

    Are there any other things that might cause leaking on the inside of the cabin? when it rains a lot, my car leaks on the inside and I think it's growing mold. Water literally drips and pours into the cabin

    Could also leak from the roof rack, it has a few screws that keep it to the roof that are usually RTV’d / siliconed
