    Hi All,

New to the forum. Really want to keep this truck. I love it.

    I have a 1995 3.0L 2WD Red 4Runner.

The transmission has died and it's dead in the water. I found a transmission at a place called Optimal Auto Parts for $980.00 with free shipping, however, I read some awful reviews about them. The guy I talked to was putting the hard sell on me. I never had that happen at any parts place. I'm not trusting them at all.

I'm looking for a known good transmission. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I think I should post the number off the transmission, which I'll do as soon as I can.

    Glad I found this forum.

    Thank you for your replies.

    Thanks,
    The Fudd

Welcome. Transmissions are iffy, i would stay local at a shop with warranties and mechanics, etc.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have been looking locally for a while. Not finding anything. I got a quote for a rebuild around $5,000.00. No can do.

    I'll keep looking.

    Thanks!

How about a low mile transmission from a salvage yard, pick-a-part, etc. Call around to local salvage yards or they can use a locator to find one and have it shipped to your driveway. Good luck Richard and welcome aboard!

    Hi All,

Been calling around. Nothing yet. My mechanic is looped into a service that posts the search on a network of salvage yards. They have multiple pull a part locations near me. Haven't gotten to them all yet.

    Appreciate the replies.

    Thanks!
