Any thoughts on switching to 16” stock 4R wheels for a 2nd gen?
My stock 15’s are pretty beat up and found some great 16’s on Craigslist.

Just be careful when choosing tires for 16" rims. Most tend to be 10-ply load range E. Way too stiff for the early 4Runners. It can be difficult finding 6-ply load range C tires for 16" rims. 15" rims are superior off road. They have larger sidewalls and air down much better for off road performance. You're actually better off making the jump to 17s. Much better tire options. Good luck.

Thanks BestGen. I held off on the 16s. I won’t be doing a lot crazy off roading. But I live on wash-boarded dirt roads and go hunting and fishing along with daily driving. I was thinking of 17s as well.
