Looking for experienced eyes here, please!

This 150k mile '07 v8 4x4 has a near perfect service history on carfax - serviced every 5k miles, timing belt/water pump, cv boots, brakes, exhaust manifold - everything serviced & replaced. Rust is my only concern, as it's 2nd owner was in WA for 8 years. Please advise if you need to see anything in more detail - I may ask them to send my way.

    Thank you!

I don’t know the price, but that looks stoppable. Just gotta start the mitigation process with something like Waxoyl or Fluid Film. I personally think it’s still solid.

Thank you. $17k - here is the listing w/full pics/carfax & etc. Looks as good as I've seen on the market in the last month.

If I buy, I will immediately throw a stage 2 icon suspension 2.5" lift on it with method mr703s wrapped in bfg ko2 33s - so stoked! Just want to find the right v8 limited 4x4 (only one I'm considering) - it's been a time sourcing...

Some of it seems fine but some of it the metal looks like its delaminating. That is not bueno. Are you near the vehicle and can take a screwdriver or a ball peen hammer to some of those frame spots? Id be pretty leery of it all unless you had that assurance.

Also not that you asked, but Icons marketing is better than their parts. You do a search on this site or T4R and youll see too many posts with "constantly leaking" or "seals failing" to leave a good feeling in your stomach. Food for thought

I just went to a yota dealership & shot the sht w a service tech for a bit - he said I should pass on it based on these pics. I'll pass on it. Bummed bc I thought she was the one till these pics came in.

Good to hear about the icon - I'll do more digging, assuming I find my t4r **crying

If you are dead set on a 4th gen V8, I would expand your search to the south and southwest. If you're in any of the rust state areas, you're going to have a hard time finding a nice one. And 17K is a lot, you better off spending that money to get a nice one.

Also, have you looked at the GX470 or 1st gen Sequoia? They both have that same 4.7 V8, and could possibly be the same if not less money.

I made a bad call. Don't listen to me, listen to these more observant fellows.

No, you're probably right about it being stoppable. If this was say in Rhode Island or someplace like that, I would think that looked normal, or even on the better side of what you would find here. But for 17k, you should be able to eat off that damn thing. V8 or not.

I’m dead set on the v8, but since gave up on the limited & just want a 4th gen v8 ‘06+. I considered the sequoia & gx, but they just don’t do it for me. The 4Runner is the only option. I’m obsessed & will keep waking at 0300 every morning till I source the right one.

Wish I actually liked the gen5s, but they’re so big & boxy & just not it for me.

Yeah, I get it. You want what you want. Good luck with your search!

And yeah, you're right, if you have your heart set on a V8, a 5th gen is only going to disappoint.

...I'm in CA, so prices will naturally be higher, but the whole market rn is crazy nationwide. I was pressed for time, but realized over the past 2 days that what I want may take some time to become available at a decent price. To get a picture of my market here in So CA, check this dealership - crazy thing is, they actually sell these at their asking prices...thoughts?

    https://www.mmsportinc.com/product-page/2008-toyota-4runner-limited

Part of me just wants to move on above despite the price, knowing I'm getting railed (not going to, just a bit tempting knowing how hard these are to find in such shape....assuming they're in as good of shape)
