    Hey there!!

I have a 2007 FJ that has a TRD supercharger that needs to be turned. I'm new to all this and have read OTT is a good place to go. Some suggest doing it remote, with HP Tuner. I'm a computer engineer, so i wouldnt mind doing it myself or with help. So if you have an FJ with a Supercharger and your close reach out i would love to hear from you and your suggestions. From San Diego Ca, Any help would be appreciated.

07 is non roller rocker 1GR so I would assume you would need a tune from a 4th gen non-roller rocker 1GR. 4th gen Runner.

I have an APR X1 ECU plug and play with a tune loaded for that supercharger on that engine. Came off my 2008 with TRD Supercharger. Auto trans. It has the shifts programmed and drivability is great. I can probably forward you the software for you to program everything yourself. I took it off mine somewhere around 2014 before i sold the vehicle.

You buy the TRD supercharger used?
You buy the vehicle with the S/C installed?
If you bought it used did you keep the OEM injectors or install the supplied injectors? I vaguely remember they were green tops maybe??

If you want a tune and want someone else to do it, i have OTT tune on a 2023 4R and really like it. I have read that their tunes on the Magnuson S/C are great. I am sure they have tunes for the TRD S/C in the FJ as well.

@Airdam thanks for that info, I just bought this FJ from a dealer. Seems they had NO clue about this engine or SC. So the SC was installed before they sold it to me and was done before they got it so who know when it was installed. I know the new injectors we installed as when i looked for them they were the green ones as you said. Thing is this FJ was throwing codes for the upstream O2s for so long (and the dealer tried to "fix" buy crap shooting) but never able to fix it. So with a few new parts dealing w/wide band sensor vrs the stock, I did found out all the upgrades were there IE: injectors, and Plugs. So im not sure if the FJ just needs to 1. relearn me as the driver 2. know how to act now that no codes are around. Its only been about 1k miles since all has been fixed. What the deal is when i drive the boots of the SC doesnt come on constantly at the same RPM. (im really new to SC so please bear w/me) For ex: lets say the boots comes on at 2k rmp, and when it does its nice strong and works great. Then the next time you go it will come on at almost 3k then you can feel it, comes on is strong works great. So theres that and the throttle just seems like it doesnt respond unless you really get on it. So im assuming it needs a good tune. Im not sure what ecu i have ill need to look into that, I see OTT is $900 im sure its worth it but would like to know if the tune just the ecu or do they do the tranny too? I would appreciate any thing you can send, and again thanks for the post.

Reach out to overland tailor tuning. They can use HP tuners to reflash your stock ecu for the supercharger. I am running their tune on my TRD supercharged Tacoma

Well it probably has the OEM reflash.
Does it have headers on it? A lot of people put headers on the 4.0 after doing a supercharger. This removes the first catalytic converter and triggers the o2 sensors. Most people used to buy o2 simulators but I think those got discontinued after the EPA cracked down on all aftermarket tuning companies for altering o2 data to trick ECUs. Check and see if it has a log style manifold or if it has tubular headers. My guess is it’s missing some cats which triggers the check engine light

No headers, just k&N filter, new injectors, and plugs, o2 upstreams Mass Airflow Sensor, TRD exhaust but thats about it. I bought it in AZ and finally got it smogged in CA w/e it is ill make sure to post when i get it all dialed in.
