I recently bought a new 4Runner O/R prem. Lift is where Im stuck, which eventually led me here. Knowing that there's about a 2" stock rake, Id like to raise the front 2ish" but also raise the back about an inch to keep a slight rake. You seemed to do something similar. You mentioned a coil spring some Bilstein parts but I dont know much. Hoping you can clarify the entire package of how I can get to the similar look.

I got the lift done. They ended up raising the front to 2.6 and the rear 1.5.
In your opinion, since you mentioned this before, when are new control arms needed or do the old ones need adjusting?

Your best bet is to get an alignment and see how it turns out. Ask them for as much caster as possible while keeping everything else in spec. You might want to look around for an alignment shop that specializes in lifted trucks. Or, an off-road shop that does alignments.

The place I got the work done is 4Wheel parts, my local 4wheel place. They did an alignment after the lift and mentioned I wouldn’t need the control arms. But I’m less trusting than maybe I should be. Since you mentioned control arms before, thought you could provide some input on when Control Arms would need to be changed.

Good morning. Great job on the Viper cut. Perfect amount taken off. Do you have a close-up of the very front? I’m going to use your image as the model. Appreciate the help.

Thank you! I'm not sure if I have anything very good of the very front. I'll have to check or maybe I can take a picture after work today.

Hello. New member searching for a kind person who has access to free download of fsm for 99 runner or the 96-02 fsm. I have searched the group chats and links used are closed or restricted access. Have some electrical issues needing attention before daughters drivers test. I will continue searching, thank you for your time.

You're probably best off starting a thread, if you aren't having any luck with the search feature. I don't know where to find those, but there might be someone around who does. Try posting in the 3rd gen sub forum. Good luck!

Good evening, You commented on my post yesterday about the VSC OFF flashing. Jumped the truck yesterday, drove it at least 15min, However was completely dead this morning. I’m going to go ahead and purchase a Battery.
      Batteries go from $150.00
to $279.00 what price range should I go for or do you know a specific brand or name of Battery I should look for?
      Thank you so much

I think I went with a Diehard this last time. So far, so good. I think some auto parts stores have store brand batteries that are made by name brand manufacturers. I think most are decent quality. I don't think it's necessary to buy anything special, unless you have specific needs.

Hopefully it's just a bad battery. Keep us updated if you keep having issues.

I am just below the border here in Illinois.
I have an KDSS equipped orp coming.....2-4months that will need a small lift.
I am looking for a shop in the vicinity
      Would you have a recommendation?
I did not want to step on any ones toes and not knowing the players in the area some posters could well be shop owners etc.

      Thanks,
      Darrald

I just saw this. Chi-town 4×4 seems like a good shop. I'm not sure what type of work they do, though. Also, a friend is having his 80 series Landcruiser worked on at CNC off-road in Kenosha, and they seem like good guys.

Spotted your Black Rhino Stadium Wheel post while googling. Love the look! Thinking about them for my 4Runner. Do you have any other pictures you could share? How have you been liking them? Really appreciate it!

Thanks! And would love to see a fender line photo down the body line! Curious about how the 0 offset sits in the wheel well. heard that -10 gets you closer to flushing out with the fenders :)

Did you have to get a bmc to fit these? I just ordered the same wheels :). Already had fender liner moved, and bumper trimmed, wondering if I need to do a bmc before mounting these. I want to also keep running my 1.25 spidertraxx. thanks! One of the best rigs on the forum!

@banxwondar It will depend on tire size. Those spacers will make the tires want to rub on the mudflap and body mount. But, it might not be an issue with stock size tires

I have Bilstein 6112's in front set to 2.3" lift with medium duty springs. Rear is 5100's with Bilstein 1.5" lift coils for 400# load. If you tend to run empty, you could get by with regular duty springs.

Hi James sorry to bother you but I posted a thread yesterday and no one has replied or even viewed it for that matter. Question was can I install an USB port and connect to factory head unit? My 4R has none in it at all. Has a blank where one would be. If you would be so kind to provide any info Plz and thanks

Hey James, about that Tacomaworld / 4Runners.com camping outing this coming August...
      Tell me more.
We've got a summer place near Chetek, WI (on Prairie chain of lakes) and that sounds like a fun camping outing, where are you holding it?
Maybe we can make something work out.
      Let me know.

As of now, it's Boulder Lake, Hemlock group site, August 20-23. It's a laid back gathering, with everyone free to do as they please. There will be a trail run involved, probably Saturday. Nothing too crazy. Last year, a guy in a bone stock '97 Tacoma came along.
