Front end update on 4th gen TR4

I just bought my 2005 4Runner but I’d like to update the front end to the 2006-2009. I know I have to get the following: headlights, headlight fillers, bumper, and grill. I have the headlights and they fit perfectly since they’re OEM. As far as wiring goes I’m aware that turn signals on the 06-09 are located on the headlights.My issue is the bumper. Not sure if it’s completely bolt on.

 

Even if the bumper was straight bolt on, won’t the fender flare trim on the 06+ bumper not line up with the 03-05 style flares? I think if you were doing an aftermarket bumper it would be fine but otherwise.

 

Change the rear differential fluid and transfer casings. It was probably never done. If you plan on getting to 300,000 miles, you need to get that 80W 90 Valvoline in there. Conventional is my preference and synthetic is not necessary for 80,000 mile change intervals. Stuff gets black in 100,000 miles.

I have 2005 V6 with 150,000 miles. I did mine in driveway with 3 quarts ($5.32) and a 24mm socket (drain and fill). Google it. Takes one hour to do the rear D.

Paid the dealer $400 for the Aisin transmission drain and fill 8 years ago at 100,000 miles. Toyota's transmissions are built by Aisin.
